2021 Ford EcoSport’s EcoBoost Engine is Efficient in BC

The 2021 Ford EcoSport’s engine certainly lives up to its environmentally-friendly name. Its efficient and powerful performance combined with solid construction lets you adventure through BC easily yet responsibly.

With a cylinder block made of cast iron, the 1.0L EcoBoost gasoline engine uses up to 50% less energy to warm-up than previous models for reduced emissions. The unbalanced flywheel and front pulley allow smooth running without wasting force on stabilization; it also boasts a low-friction timing belt-in-oil drive for quieter and more resourceful operations, which leads to another improvement of 20% better efficiency than older generations.

This engine is Turbocharged and incorporates direct injection, so it delivers up to 123 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque. Plus, it’s paired with the 2021 EcoSport’s 6-speed automatic SelectShift transmission to ensure smooth gear changes during every BC adventure.
