Boasting a front-wheel-drive system and an electronic continuously variable transmission (eCVT), this trim is powered by a Hybrid 2.5-litre iVCT Atkinson-Cycle Inline-4 engine. Generating 200 hp and 155 lb-ft of torque, it has an estimated fuel economy rated at 5.4 L/100 km in the city and 6.3 L/100 km on the highway. That translates to a combined rating of 5.8 L/100 km. If equipped with AWD, those numbers change to 5.5 L/100 km in the city and 5.9 L/100 km on the highway. That is about 5.9 L/100 km combined.

What’s special about this powertrain is that you can still use the Escape to tow an attachment weighing up to 680 kg. The front suspension is an independent MacPherson strut-type with twin-tube hydraulic gas-pressurized shocks. Meanwhile, the rear suspension is an independent double lateral link type with semi-trailing arms and progressive-rate spring. Both have their own stabilizer bars for a smoother experience from inside the cabin.
