2022 Ford Explorer Comes With a Limited 3 Year/36,000 mi. Basic Warranty for Penticton

December 28,2022

The 2022 Ford Explorer comes with a three-year or 36,000-mile basic warranty, whichever comes first. This is one of the industry’s longest and most comprehensive warranty coverage plans.

The Explorer’s powertrain warranty covers the engine, transmission, and drivetrain. The corrosion perforation warranty protects against rust-through on the body and chassis parts for five years with no mileage limitation. Comprehensive and collision coverage is not included in the new vehicle limited warranty. However, they may be purchased as optional features.

The limited warranty covers repairs or replacements of components that fail due to defects in materials or workmanship during normal use. Towing to the nearest Ford dealership is also covered if your vehicle cannot be driven due to a warrantable issue. Accidental Damage Coverage (ADC) is not included in the limited warranty but can be purchased as an optional add-on feature. ADC pays for the repair or replacement of warranted components that are damaged due to common accidents, like pothole strikes or hail damage.

Two main ways to extend your limited warranty coverage are by purchasing an extended service plan (ESP) or enrolling in Ford Credit’s Protection Plans program.
An ESP is an insurance policy that helps cover the cost of repairs after your manufacturer’s warranty expires. You can purchase an ESP from any Ford dealership and from many independent automotive service providers.
Ford Credit’s Protection Plans offer similar coverage to an ESP but can only be obtained through Ford Credit when financing or leasing a vehicle from them.

The 2022 Ford Explorer comes with a three-year or 36,000-mile basic warranty, making it one of the most dependable SUVs on the market today. However, you can still do a few things to ensure that your SUV remains protected long after your initial warranty expires. By purchasing an extended service plan or enrolling in Ford Credit’s Protection Plans program, you can rest assured knowing that your Explorer will be taken care of for years to come!
