2022 Ford Explorer Offers Three Engines to BC Drivers

If you are in the market for a larger SUV with plenty of powertrain options to pick from, then you need to turn your attention to the 2022 Ford Explorer lineup. Available in six unique trim levels, this vehicle is currently available at our dealership in BC.

The standard engine is a 2.3-litre turbocharged EcoBoost Inline-4 unit. Delivering 300 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque, it uses direct injection technology and Intelligent 4WD. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, it can tow up to 2,404 kg.

Next is the 3.0-lire twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6. Generating 400 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque, it comes with the same transmission and technology. Due to its extra strength, it can manage a haul weighing up to 2,540 kg.

Finally, the eco-friendly version of the Explorer is a 3.3-litre naturally-aspirated hybrid motor. Also coupled with the same elements – with the addition of a battery pack – it makes 318 hp and 322 lb-ft of torque. However, it does have the lowest pulling limit which is capped at 3,268 kg.
