The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E has received several upgrades this year, especially on its battery. The Standard Range battery is capable of 70 kilowatts per hour, a slight upgrade from the previous 68 kilowatts per hour. The Extended Range battery got a similar upgrade to 91 kilowatts per hour from 88 kilowatts per hour.
The Mach-E, available with the extended-range battery option, now offers an EPA-estimated range of 300 miles. This is a significant increase from the standard range battery, which offers an EPA-estimated range of only 210 miles. The extended-range battery is also compatible with Ford’s new home charging station, which can charge the battery in as little as four hours.
The Mach-E is also available with a performance battery option, which offers an EPA-estimated range of only 235 miles. However, this battery pack is significantly lighter and offers more power and torque than the standard range battery. Using this, the Mach-E is able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.
Both battery options drive power to an electric motor which is mounted either on the axles or the rear. With this combination, Mach-E gives an all-wheel drive (AWD). The motors are capable of delivering up to 480 horsepower and 634 pound-feet (lb.-ft.) of torque.
