The all-new 2022 RAM 1500 will feature a blind-spot monitoring system designed to alert the driver of vehicles in their blind spots. The new technology will be part of the standard safety package, and Ram says it can detect vehicles approaching from behind at speeds up to 60 mph. A small pulsing light will appear on either side of the rearview mirror when a vehicle is detected in your blind spot. This helps you stay safe while driving by preventing accidents caused by blind spots.
The 2022 RAM 1500’s blind-spot monitoring system uses a camera mounted in the side mirror housing to detect vehicles approaching your vehicle’s blind spots. When it detects a vehicle, the system alerts you with an audible tone and visual alert on the side mirrors. To help prevent accidents, the system will even flash a warning light on the side mirrors if you try to change lanes when a vehicle is in your blind spot.
This new system is advanced because it uses cameras mounted on each side of the vehicle rather than relying on sensors or other types of technology. This allows for greater accuracy and eliminates potential problems caused by dirt or snow buildup on sensors.
