If you’re looking for a two-row mid-size crossover, like the 2023 Ford Edge, that has attractive features packaged presentably and at a reasonable price, you are not short of options. The basic four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged engine gives decent horsepower, and the ride quality is pleasant and forgiving, but it falls short of expectations when it comes to highway fuel economy. The ST trim level, the pinnacle of performance, is powered by a twin-turbo V6 and costs about as much as the Lincoln Aviator, the Lincoln’s opulent business relative. The base SE trim of the Edge is now the only one having a beginning MSRP lower than $45,000, after price increases for the 2023 model year.
The Ford Bronco, an off-road vehicle in the same family as the Edge, is available in two trim levels priced between $35,000 and $40,000.This doesn’t help the Edge’s competitive position, given that the segment also includes the Kia Telluride, the pretty comparable Hyundai Palisade, and a slew of other solid contenders such as the Mazda CX-9 and Jeep Grand Cherokee.
So, while the 2023 Ford Edge is pretty desirable, it is far from unrivalled in this segment. To learn more, please feel free to check out the blog section of the Skaha Ford website.
