BC residents are no strangers to stressful driving in gusty weather, and neither is this 2021 Ford Explorer ST. For those extra-breezy days, it has Side Wind Stabilization included as standard.

This advanced technology package is part of the Ford Co-Pilot360 system, and it helps take the edge off while you drive on gusty highways. Side Wind Stabilization uses sensors that monitor outside conditions 100 times per second, and it kicks in at speeds over 80 km/h (50 mph). If it detects that you are drifting, the Explorer will automatically apply the brakes on the correct side to compensate.

It also teams up with the Roll Stability Control system on slippery BC roads, preventing skidding and sliding while reducing potential tip-overs. In fact, Side Wind Stabilization can activate the brakes in under 200 milliseconds – for extra peace of mind.
