The 2021 Ford F-350 Improves Visibility in Penticton

How frightening is it to be caught off-guard by pitch-black stretches of road and other low-visibility situations? With the launch of the Super Duty, the Blue Oval aims to change that with the inclusion of Auto High-Beam Headlamps on the 2021 F-350, which is available at Skaha Ford in BC.

The system makes visibility a priority for commercial fleets. It works by automatically turning the high-beam headlamps on and off when it senses poor lighting conditions – without any driver input – to light your path ahead. The Auto High-Beam Headlamps on the 2021 F-350 uses a windshield-mounted camera that scans the road at speeds above 40 km per hour (25 miles per hour). 

The headlamps can even sense oncoming vehicles and dim the lights accordingly. For example, when a motorist is approaching up to 610 metres (2,000 feet) away or travelling up to 152 metres (500 feet) ahead of you, the system will dim to lower the beams to reduce glare and avoid hindering the other driver’s visibility.
