Towing heavy equipment or a trailer on a busy highway is daunting – and the need to change lanes only adds to your stress. The 2021 F-350 – available at Skaha Ford – aims to revolutionize your commercial fleet’s confidence on BC roads by including a Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Trailer Coverage and Cross-Traffic Alert.
This enhanced version of Ford’s BLIS system is made primarily with medium-duty truck operators in mind. It provides coverage for the Super Duty you are driving and whatever you are pulling behind the pickup. An audible sound will alert you of the potentially unsafe lane change when a vehicle is spotted in the blindspot – whether alongside the truck or the trailer.
BLIS with Trailer Coverage and Cross-Traffic Alert supports conventional trailers and automatically turns off when towing a fifth-wheel or gooseneck trailer. Trailers can range up to 2.7 m wide (measured at the front) and up to 10 m long, providing great versatility for whatever you tow. This driver-assist comes standard on 2021 F-350 XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited trims and is optional on the base XL trim.
The Super Duty’s advanced technologies make hard roads much easier for commercial fleets. To learn about the F-350’s features or inquire about medium-duty truck services and repairs, contact our team at Skaha Ford today.
