Ford has started providing special incentives to customers who pre-order a 2023 model year vehicle. As part of the Summer Supercharged Sales Event, Ford is offering a new rate lock program and lease package to retail customers who place an order for a 2023 model year Ford.
A bulletin provided to Ford dealers states that when order banks open, some models will be available with a Retail Order Rate Lock Low APR Private Offer. APRs begin at 2.9% for 60 months, increasing to 3.9% for 72 months, and 4.9% for 84 months. In certain instances, they might be marginally more expensive than Ford’s interest rates for 2022.
The 2022 Ford F-150, for instance, has a rate of 1.9% APR for 60 months. Starting on Monday, you may place an order for the 2023 F-150, which is only 1% cheaper. Also eligible for this offer are the 2023 Maverick (gas), Explorer, Edge, and Bronco Sport. The Ranger, too, will qualify for this precise deal.
Ford is providing a lease deal alongside the 2023 rate lock incentive. Ford is currently offering $500 in RCL (Retail Order Cash) on nearly all of the aforementioned models for lessees instead of buyers. The 2023 Maverick is the major outlier because it is not eligible for the lease cash promotion.
On 5th September, both programs will cease, and they share a lot of the exclusions. Models like the F-150 Lightning, F-150 Raptor, and F-150 Tremor are not included. In early April last year, Ford halted collecting orders for the 2022 F-150 Lightning, and the all-electric pickup truck may remain out of stock for some time.
There could be benefits to locking in your interest rate. Ford Credit “is stretching the credit approval time period from 90 to 180 days,” as stated in the fine print. As the letter continues to explain, the purpose of the 6-month rate lock is to “give clients with peace of mind knowing that financing has been secured” before an order is placed.
Finally, Ford adds, “The rate received at application will stay (sic) locked providing there are no major changes to deal structure and/or application.” This could reassure purchasers, who may be worried about the Federal Reserve’s plans to raise interest rates this month.
Ford’s custom order incentives have been around for a while, and they ramped up dramatically a year ago, when the firm quadrupled its discount to an amount of $1,000 on any ordered truck or car. Other vehicle manufacturers have also initiated vehicle price protection policies, with certain companies even offering longer credit approval periods because of an inventory shortage.

Which Vehicles are covered under the ‘Ford Lock In Your Incentive’ Offer?
The Ford ‘Lock in Your Incentive’ covers the following vehicles:
2023 Ford 150
Ford F-150s are most people’s ideal pickup trucks. Aluminum structure, turbocharged engines, a hybrid variation, an all-electric offshoot, and the brand’s cutting-edge tech have modernized this bestseller.
The base XL trim level has everything a work truck needs, but as the trim levels go up, you’ll find more desirable features and greater prices.
The sporty Tremor is for outdoor enthusiasts, while the Platinum and Limited models have Lincoln-like comforts.
The F-150 is capable, customizable, and competitive despite its poor ride quality and handling. There is a reason why it has dominated the selling charts for so long.
2023 Ford Edge
The 2023 Ford Edge may be the greatest choice for a mid-size, two-row crossover that is affordable yet stylish.
The four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged engine performs well and rides smoothly. The leading ST trim level’s twin-turbo V6 and price are similar to that of the Lincoln Aviator.
The only 2023 trim with a starting MSRP under $40,000 is the base SE.
2023 Ford Explorer
The 1990 first-generation Ford Explorer ignited the SUV market. The new Explorer has a roomy cabin with an athletic exterior, a third row, and three engines. A capable vehicle that succeeds at its core function: carrying families and their belongings while delivering a high level of performance.
To boost Explorer sales, Ford has created new trim levels including the off-road-focused Explorer Timberline.

Wrapping Up

To sum up, the Ford ‘Lock in Your Incentive’ offer is a great way to enjoy peace of mind amidst the wildly fluctuating interest rates. The best part is that, if there is a better incentive available at the time of your Ford delivery, you can choose that reward instead of the incentive you received at the time of ordering.
