The 2007 Ford Explorer XLT was the base model for this production run. There were only three models for this year, but you can easily find replacement parts for yours today.
Riding on 16-inch alloy wheels, the XLT seats five people – making it ideal for singles, couples, and small families, Air conditioning is standard as is cruise control and a stereo with a CD player. It even has an input jack for MP3 compatibility.
As for performance, it uses a 4.0 litre V6 engine to generate 210 hp and 254 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission and either a 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrain, it can tow up to 3,311 kg (7,300 lb), which is quite high.
The available 4.6-litre V8 motor produces 292 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. You get the same drivetrain choices, but the transmission is a 6-speed automatic. Since it is more robust, it can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 9 seconds.
If you need to replace any powertrain parts, you can do that by looking at the corresponding section in the online shop. You can find just about anything down to the timing chain tensioner (pictured).
