The hill is steep; the sudden drop is worrisome; and you glance back to a trailer, wondering how you’re meant to cart those heavy stacks of cargo down such a sharp angle.
Ford suggests taking advantage of its Hill Descent Control function – which now anchors the 2020 F-150.
To ensure that BC drivers can efficiently navigate every incline Ford has paired its new F-150 with available Hill Descent Control technology. This system promotes precise handling, seamlessly adjusting both traction ratios and brake pressure. Press a button and the ABS function is activated, maintaining crucial friction to reduce slippage; while a cruise setting regulates acceleration to achieve ideal operational speeds between 4 and 32 km/h. This enables operators to focus on steering as they move forward – eliminating the need to downshift the transmission or continually engage the all-wheel discs.
Through this every driving experience can be improved – with Hill Descent Control affording superior traction on steep grades. As part of the available FX4 Package, this system proves an ideal option for those taking their cargo beyond the highway.
